boo

I ruined muffins today.

here they are in the trash where they belong.

How does one ruin a squash muffin recipe that she has made a gazillion times?

By having miserable handwriting and reading "5 tsp" of baking powder as "5 tbsp" of baking powder.

They puffed up way too much and then sunk in the middle, and then came out really crumbly. I thought they still might be salvageable but no no no. They were GROSS. I ate part of one and had the nasty baking powder taste in my mouth for at least 45 minutes!!

So my friends, it is important to re-read your recipes before making them, and most importantly, USE LOGIC!! 5 tbsp of baking powder makes no sense in 18 muffins!

  3. Don't beat yourself up too much. :) I ruined two batches of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins in a row because I forgot to add the sugar. They looked fine...and were way healthier. But even my gracious Matt said they tasted like cardboard!
